Racing has always been a big part of my life. When I was little it was slot cars, RC cars, and of course watching races at the local speedway every Saturday night. The summer of 1996, at the age of 12, I started racing 125cc outlaw cage karts. I moved up to the 250cc class in 1998 and then open class in 2000. I started my career in sprint car racing at 14. I was a full time crew chief on a local race car at Riverside Speedway (Cottage Grove Speedway). I got my first Sprint car from that team the following year, but had to wait until I was 16 to drive it. In the mean time, I worked at both a local race parts store and engine shop and acquired parts to built a motor. My first year in a sprint car was 2001, with the help of Michael and Nathan Morelock, Dennis and Dallas Zuniga, Beau Solsbee, Gary Stevenson, and of course my dad Rick, we had a very successful year. The following year we got off to a great start by finishing out of the top 5 only once by the midway point of the season, and walking away with the points lead. Midway through the season I had a crash that would leave me watching for a couple weeks. I was in a wheelchair for 10 days, and on crutches for

a few after that. I felt like Guy Forbrook, building a new car in a wheelchair. Having to sit out took me out of the chase for the point’s championship, so the rest of the year we just tried to have fun and win races. The following two years weren’t too far off from the last. We started out the season leading points, and led until the end of the season, but couldn’t hold it together for a championship. This year (2005) we traveled with the NST tour, The Golden State Challenge, and the Civil War Series. A lack of money kept us from finishing any of the 3 series.
