Boyce gets back into the saddle after a three year leave!

November 5th, 2005                                                          Roseburg, Or.

After racing outlaw cage karts only once since 2002, Sprint Car driver Brendan Boyce gets back in the groove of winter racing.  He suffered motor problems in qualifying which put him in the 11th spot out of a 15 car field.  He got things squared away though and came from 6th in the heat race to win it!  Because of the poor qualifying effort he was to start inside second row of the B-main.  He would pass for the win on lap 10 and check out from the field.  He drove up from the 10th starting spot in the A-Feature to a 4th place finish.

Point’s leader after 2nd night of two day show!

November 6th, 2005                                                       Roseburg, Or.

After the first night shake down of a new car, Boyce felt much more confident about tonight.  He went out last for qualifying and ended up in the 5th spot.  Qualifying 1 car out of the trophy dash put him on the pole of his heat, which he would go on to win.  The coin toss was heads up, so that put the un-sponsored (at the time) #65 car to start inside row 3.  A hard charge to the front started as soon as the green flag dropped.  He got up to second after only a few laps and had the 10j car of Jake Waddell in his sights.  On lap 16 he passed Jake for the lead and would go on to win his first 500cc outlaw kart race of the 2005\2006 winter season.

A consistent run shows patience and lengthens the points lead!

November 12th, 2005                                                         Roseburg, Or.

Only a couple hundredths of a second separated his 8.79 second lap from quick time of the evening.  It put him 3rd overall and started him on the outside poll of the trophy dash.  He went on to win the dash and take over the points lead from the 10h car of Steven Horner.  Boyce ran a very cautious 2nd place in his heat race.  In the main event, it looked like it was going to be a repeat of the week before as he opened up a straight away lead on the second place car of Kyle Miller.  But with just a few laps left, Matt Hein and Colten Allen got together right in front of Brendan running him off the track and into the second position where he would finish.  But the consistency would lengthen his points lead.

The day beau of a new sponsor.

November 19th, 2005                                                            Red Bluff, Ca.

After an impressive run at the most aggressive and competitive go kart track in the state.  The un-sponsored and un-painted race car that drove to victory lane the week prior would show up to Red Bluff a little bit brighter.  Black, White, and Orange were the colors of the now, “Doyles Harley Davidson” racing team.  However, the first time at a new track wasn’t a great one for the team.  A struggle with the fuel system in qualifying set him to start in the rear of every race.  He battled up to the 4th position from a 12th starting spot, but had to go to the rear after loosing the chain in a race for 3rd.  He would charge back to the 5th position though, which would qualify him for the C-main event.  It looked like Brendan would come through the field with ease.  But after getting tangled up with a local runner, his exhaust had flattened, and ended his night.

Two day clean sweep!

November 26th, 27th                                                                 Salem, Or.

On Saturday night, the 15 car field went to school by the teacher Brendan Boyce.  In heat 1 and 2, Boyce ran away from multiple time track champions, Kyle Miller and Mike Carrothers.  And in the A-feature, he would pass the # 14 of Brian (spark) Osterman on lap 5, and never look back to win.

On night two, the wet weather didn’t slow Boyce down a bit.  He would check-out in both heat races.  A broken shifter lever while lining up for the A-feature would cause Brendan to make a quick repair and start last in the event.  But that didn’t affect the “bullet” what so ever! He would not only drive up to take the lead.  But he would go on to lap the 3rd place car and sweep the weekend in style by winning everything he entered both days and go on to win his 3rd main event out of 5 races in Oregon!
